Exhaust Setup...whatda think?

I know, I know, do a search...well I did, and I didn't find very much information on the possible exhaust setups that I am looking at. My car: 1987 GXL, rebuilt engine with intake and exhaust porting (streetport on exhaust ports).

The first setup: stock mani -> RB cat replacment and presilencer combo -> corksport cat-back. Does anyone run this setup? or has anyone ever seen or heard any video or sound clips of this exhaust?

The second Setup: stock mani -> bonez high flow cat system -> corksport cat-back. Same questions as above, and also, does the bonez system come with the split air pipe for proper actuation of my 5th/6th ports? Also do I still need to keep the air pump and acv with this system?

I really want to incorporate the corksport cat-back. I have heard differing opinions about noise levels (really doesn't matter to me as long as it sounds good). I would love to use the full RB system, but right now is way outta my price range. There are other mods I could do with that money right now.

Thanks for all the help!!!
Brad

well im running 2 3/4 from the cat to 2 1/2 to a straight through muffler and let me tell you when i got rid of the y-pipe it just starts sucking you in your seat at around 4k up to about 6 1/2k real pleasure to drive. but thats my experience other people should have alot of diff stories,i also have my uim,lim ported and have an k&n intake with the tb mod.im getting a header soon and when i put that baby on im hoping to see some more gains!

I got the second the second setup. But then that's because my exhaust was falling appart and I had holes in cat. If you have the money you might as well put in a RB header. For the cat, if you're refering to the Bonez Superflow then yes it does have a sir pipe for the for the air pump.

As for noise levels my friend claims she can hear me coming from about a block away. But in addition I can still listen to my radio.

Thanks...the main reason I am asking about the second system is that I really want to remove the air pump and acv (which I couldn't do if I needed to pump air into the bonez cats).

Anyone have any exhaust clips of either of these setups?

I got a racing beat road race header, into two 22" Magna flow 4" round presilncers, custome 2.25" piping into two racing beat rear mufflers. Power kicks in at about 4k and peaks out at about 7750 rpms. It is so fun to drive, Noise is minimal till about 4k at WOT.. then it just yells.

couldn't you make your 5/6th ports actuated some other way than exhaust back pressure? I think i've heard about a dual exhaust set-up from the exhaust ports all the way back to the tips that added 28 hp, it was a racing beat setup that they no longer sell as a package, it seems i remember this from somewhere.

I would opt for electronic actuators...but part of the goal for this project is to eliminate as much stuff that pulls power (electrical and HP) off of the engine...so for my purposes, using exhaust pressure works the best.

I'm still doing some research on the bonez..but currently I am leaning in that direction

There are many setups but on mine i have 2 3A Racing duals on running with straight pipe. 3 inch running down from the cat that connected to the exhaust and 2 1/2 running from the middle that splits to a y and connects my duals
