Exhaust removal tips

I'm going to be removing the stock exhaust from my 89 GTU and putting on an Apexi exhaust (it came with the car so I figure I might as well test it out) and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to give me. I've never removed and put on a cat back before so I was wondering if there was anything I should look out for or check.
Oh also, what tools will I need to do this?

LUBE! Seriously, lots of penetrant on those bolts at the Y-pipe. New exhaust hanger donuts while you're at it too. Don't wanna scratch up that nice new stainless.

Yeah, WD-40 works magic on exhaust removal, it was pretty painless. WEAR GOGGLES!! You don't wanna get any crud in your eyes like I did. I tried flushing my eyes for two days then ended up going to the hospital to get it out, now my corneas have light scratches, but I can see fine since they healed. Glasses are crappy so wear goggles. Almost forgot this. Use the hook tool thing for the screw jack, it makes removing those exhaust donuts A LOT easier with a friend.

PB Blaster works much better than WD-40. Having someone else there makes removing the exaust donuts much easier.
