Exhaust removal for rebuild

I was in the process of getting my engine ready for removal for either swap or rebuild. I am following rotary resurrection's instructions for engine removal. I got to removing the exhaust and so far have only removed the heat shield from below the manifold. I was wondering if when removing the exhaust, that means removing the manifold with the cat and muffler as one or removed where the cat meets the manifold?

Take the downpipe off the back if the turbo three 14mm or 17mm I dont remember which I usually use impact with extensions and swivels but you can use hand tools and a wrench to get to the tricky one ( I think it is the bottom one)
