my friends 87 gxl has a pacesetter exhaust and it is extemely loud. but it has this weird crackle to it that sounds like crap. we check for exhaust leaks. there is none.why does is car sound like a chainsaw?

 

haha. its suppost to sound like a chainsaw. do you have a straight pipe? is your cat in there? downpipe? i use to have the same problem when i took out my cat and precat . then i put my obx mufflers in and it sounded way better. it doesnt sound like a chainsaw.
