exhaust Questions
so on a 1987 mazda rx7 N/A is there no way to straight pipe it? i just found out it has to have some backpressure or it wont idle so really you couldnt could you and if you can what happins with the air injection line. another question is does it have a restricter plate somewhere in the exsost. i just want the most free flowing exhaust system i can get for it loudness and emmisions dont matter in our county. I also dont have a lot of money to put into this wich is why i was thinking straight piping it. any suggestions?

You can straight pipe it, but the loss of exhaust pressure will cause your aux. ports to stop working. Also, a fully unmuffled rotary is very loud, are you sure you want to do this? A couple mufflers and a presilencer and the exhaust will be bearable and your aux. ports should still work.

How about a Turbo model? I'm looking into getting the exhaust done in my 87 TII. So far it is completely stock, motor is running very strong. My 1 concern is the potential to overboost it. I have the car down at the shop now and the plan is to straight pipe it from the turbo back while including 1 Cat. I figured I would take it for a short drive and see if it would cut fuel to the rear rotor or not. As for noise and emitions I'm not concerned, pure track car. Thanks
