For N/A....

Why would you want to port the cast iron bathtub? Other than it being a horseshit flowing pile of crap, the ports on it are larger than the exhaust ports to begin with so all you could do would be open up a little the smooth casting into the flange leading out of it and you wouldn't gain anything from doing such. (other than more gray or missing hair and possibly some lost blood taking it off and putting it back on)

Everyone looking at exhaust manifold flow problems goes to a header.

For turbo....

There have been some posts about people porting the opening of the turbo exhaust manifold to better promote equal flow from both rotors. (one rotor has a smaller casting that the other. Possibly originally designed to increase exhaust gas velocity to better spool the turbo) So there is some info out there on this one. I think I saw a thread on it a couple weeks ago.

Hope that helps

What? headers are loud? is that what you said? I'm having trouble hearing you! lol Yeah they're ******* loud alright, but damn are they worth it.

I'm experimenting with the moroso spiral flow muffler in place of the pre-silencer in an otherwise open 2.5" single exhaust. I'll be getting the moroso unit fedex today (its out for delivery right now according to the tracking) and I hope to have it installed by sun down so I can let everyone know if it works or not. I'm leaving a provision for a cut-out in front of it in case it's too restrictive as one guy claimed it choked big blocks on a dyno. (sounds bullshit to me though I just don't think he liked the concept of a noise cancellation muffler with no absorption material in it)

Truthfully when I installed my header it wasnt nearly as loud as i was expecting it to be. I already had a cat-back and a Bonez Superflow system, and I kept the cat when goin to the header. it may have got slightly "raspier" after 4k, but thats about all.

That cat is killing your flow. Did you at least go with a high flow unit?

The Bonez cat flows very well and hardly effects performance at all. Unless, of course, it is clogged.

I just got my moroso spiral flow muffler installed today. The thing works! No rasp, no deafness, and only a slight 3200rpm drone. Sounds like a turbo spooling in the exhaust.

It isn't as free flowing as straignt pipe was, but its much more livable now.
