exhaust popping sound when idleing

My 86 rx7 has this popping sound coming from the exhaust after warm up. When im on a red light idleing , i can hear it pop. Does anyone else have this problem? What can it be and how to fix it? I changed spark plugs but havent change wires. Is my motor going bad?

And make sure the TPS is set properly. The Green/Red wire should have 1 volt w/key to on and the engine as hot as possible (which means drive the car for twenty minutes then check the voltage on the G/R wire).

Could be unburnt fuel igniting while in the exhaust system.

TPS and timing cause many different problems. My TII was so advanced it would almost kill itself at idle.
