exhaust piping
hey guys!
tonight/tomorow i am getting my RB dual header installed with custom piping all the way back to the mufflers.
the shop that is doing the bending is not going to be using a mandrel bender... and ive heard that 2" is the best size for each pipe.. but my question is... should i increase that size to 2 1/4 since it is not mandrel?
thanks guys!
quick replies would be appreciated as i have to have the car @ the shop in less than 3 hours!

oh and about your question... since its not mandrel bent hhmmm... if it were me i would go 2.5 ... thats what many others do on the forum however i dont know if its a good bandaid for this fix

these are straight pipes we are talking about... from the header back.... one small bend...
this is not cat back here... its header back...
i dont think its worth the extra money for that one bend..

Unless they're going under the body of the car and not in the stock plumbing route, there's going to be four roughly 35~40* bends to get to the stock muffler wells.

I'll put it this way...if you don't think it'll hurt anything, then your goals are no where near any range that it would cause you problem. If all you're wanting is a LOT more noise and not so much more "go"....go for it.

Best exhaust will maintain a gradual flow from start to end. Rough and/or uneven bends, cats, mufflers, ripples in the metal, etc. all cause turbulance and turbulance hinders that gradual flow. Crush bends and rolled bends decrease the tubing size and add prtrusions in the way of flow, increasing turbulance.
