Exhaust Manifold Gasket ?

I search but no real answers. Can you use a 87 n/a gasket on a 87 t2 if the air pump has ben remove & block off. I heard that somewear." is this true". i don't think the n/a gasket has the holes at the bottom of it. any info would be great Thanks Tony
