Exhaust Going On Next Week!!!
Exhaust Going On Next Week!!!
Hey everyone!! After reading and reading and searching and searching I FINALLY have my exhaust ready to be put on my 1986 N/A.
I spent TONS of time looking through old threads, and asking questions about exhausts, and I wanted to thank everyone for their patience and help with a newbie like me.
Here's what I've got going on, probably on Monday or Wednesday of next week. I'm going to be putting a Mindtrain header, and Mindtrain presilencer on. I'm going to be getting custom mandrel bent pipe from the cat back to a 5Zigen Fireball muffler. I think I'll be running it down the passenger side, to try and offset the driver's weight a little bit.
I'm also going to be performing the throttle body mod, wiring open my 5/6 ports, and doing an ATF treatment (even though my compression is okay, I figure it can't hurt.)
Is there ANYTHING at all that you guys would suggest to help me out?? Should I do these things in any specific order, or doesn't it really matter??
Once again, thanks alot.
Jeff

VERY nice choice !
1st park the car where you want it to sit for atleast 24hours. then take out the O2 sensor and start the ATF trick. After 24hours, turn the sucker on and clear the smoke, put in new plugs once it cools. By that time the exhaust will be cool and you can put on your new exhaust.
I REALLY recommend a lift or be ready for a sore back if you'll be working on the floor.

I know Max, my friend's father is an ASE master mechanic, and runs his own shop, so we'll be going over there to use the hydro lift, I'm not gonna try and be all sore when it's done from crawling around under the car!!!
