exhaust completed. *pics*

well im done with my exhasut, I hjad it finished off today. it is a stock header, down to a custom bent 2.5" downpipe, whcih leads to a racing beat presilencer, and then it is a custom 3" catback that was imported from Japan. Single straight thourgh 3" in 3" out muffler.

I bought the whole catback and presilencer from a friend of mine. the guy he bought HIS seven from had the system imported in from japan. really good quality, heavy guage tubing and all.

the system is loud as heck even with the presilencer, but its fun. I can feel the power difference for sure... though I think its going to attract a lot of unwanted attention.

I dont believe theres much more I can do to the exhaust at this point without tearing down the enging ang porting it out.

I got my first fireballs too, so im pretty stoked.

88 base model, cone filter intake (soon to be CAI), and full exhaust. WHATS NEXT!?

subframe is what holds your rear-end to the shell, or front subfrome holds engine,suspension,steering etc.

I agree. Get rid of those whitewalls.

Since you have a 4 lug car you could buy some 15x7" wheels for $99/ea from The Tire Rack and wrap them in 225/50R15s Kumho ECSTA 711s for $52/ea if you're cheap. That's $604 mounted and ballanced plus shipping and probably duty since you're in Canada or try Canadian Tire.

For my 5 lug Sport I just got a set of 16x7" MkIII Supra wheels for $50 that I'm stripping and polishing. The same Kumho tires are only $5/ea more in 16" so if you count the $40 in polishing supplies, $228 tires plus $40 shipping and $40 local mounting and ballancing I'll have decent wheels and new tires for just under $400.

The again you could buy these off Craigslist. http://vancouver.craigslist.org/pts/84536924.html

T have it, too on my S4. it's to open the 5+6 ports I think, cause they open with exhaust backpressure.

S5 uses VDI system...I duno why he's got it.

Correct me if I'm wrong?

yep, that pipe controls the aux ports. exhaust leaks, wide open exhaust, and no pipe at all will lead to them opening later or not at all... electric air pump here i come! :P

The tube is called the "Split air pipe". It supplies the pressure from the exhaust to open your 5th and 6th ports as you stated.

Does your setup have a pipe that actually faces the flow of the exhaust, or is it just welded to the side of the pipe?

The NA RB pre silencer actually has a built in tube to act as an intake for the pressure..

Do you have any trouble opening your 5th and 6th ports?

So what is it called?
How difficult is it to install?
do you have to custom weld with an aftermarket exhaust?
are there any exhausts that already have a predrill?
Who framed Roger Rabit?
And how many licks dose it take?

from the faq

This comes back frequently for the s4

How do I activate the auxiliary ports (5+6) on my s4 without backpressure from exhaust (but with air pump)

using a rpm activation switch

http://home.rmci.net/panther/6PortSolution.htm

using a garden hose tee

http://home.earthlink.net/~burntoast/6port.html

Oh wait, those links don't work anymore. Uh, try searching for it.
