Question exhaust...bottom line

I've got a 90 NA with everything stock. This is soon to change but I need a little help from you guys....I want to replace the exhaust system, and gain some power. If i have around 700 to spend what do you think I should do? I don't want a cat and thats all I really know. So that part is given I'll have a down pipe, but what about the header and the muffler and pipes? I want good deep tone, louder than stock but not out of hand. Thanks.

Get headers, midpipe with presilencer, and a quiet cat back, and I think youll be pretty happy. The RB catback is pretty quiet, I think the Borla is a little quieter. Apex N1 is NOT what you want, its very loud.

Hey, My first thought was the N1 but then I realized it is really freakin loud, is it still loud as hell with the silencer on? and some people told me it is actually a power loss over stock?!?!!?! That sucks *** if it's true!

yes, mine is single...i have stock manifold, high flow cat, and the N1 single catback. 2.5 inch piping flares to 3.4! so you lose a little low end torque, but above 4K you can definately feel it over stock...

honestly, if i had $700 to spend and you don't care about cats...get...

Racing Beat header- $180 i think www.racingbeat.com
Apexi N1 catback -$450 www.rx7.com

...so that leaves a small pipe that must connect the headers to the start of the catback...you can have a muffler shop make this...not sure how much it would cost...but the length would prob be a little over a foot...

at that point if its too loud you can get the silencer for $50...

when you were following me i didn't have the silencer in...i own one but never really use it cause the car isn't too loud. not sure what my weekend is gonna be like but one day we could meet up and i could take you for a spin so you can hear it...

Well damn! I'm thinking dual instead of single...i just like the dual set-up, it keeps everything balanced and **** and it is a little quieter (so i hear). I know you're all about the single outlet, but "that sort of thing's not my bag...Baby" So I'll prolly stick with a dual setup. And a header you say should be RB. I'll look into it. Anybody have another opinion?
