Ok so i have a 88 Na 13b. its been out of commission for about a month and some now. i finally got it to run and idle and its a lot better than before but its still back firing erratically and idling right around 1100-1200 rpms. if i rev it slow it will rev normally but if i mash it it will backfire like crazy. and not the loud flame backfires, its like several popping backfires...

im happy that the car is running again but i want it to run right before i drive it again.

any help at all will be appreciated!

If you don't have your emissions equipment (airpump, ACV, cat) it's going to do that to some extent but have you checked/adjusted the TPS?

 

i want to do the emissions removal!! just simplicity and less things to go wrong! but no i havent tryed, it was my first guess though. what should i set it to?
