Exhaust and airpump

I plan on doing my exhaust later on today, I just have one question-

I'm ripping of my cat. Do I have to completly remove the airpump from the engine bay? Or can just keep it in there? also, is it possible to route the lines the feed air into the exhaust from the old cat into a pipe to keep the airpump "functional"?

ok my only guess is this is a S4 car...

if you go with a racing beat header it will have an air tube on it that WILL open the actuators (I have the road race kit and they opened fine with no cats)

If your removing the converter, then the airpump has no value at all. On Your series four the ACV is Not used to open the aux ports unlike the series five.

You must be removing your cat, which means you can also delete the pump. While you're at it, get a block off plate and remove the ACV and a few other things. If you leave the pump there, it won't do anything. Not much power loss either. Keep it with a belt on it until you get a dual-alt-pulley if stripping it this far is what you are after.

Airpump not connected to the ACV is going to make bit of noise. That's if the belt is on the pump.

sorry, I was a bit vague on the details. i was rushing to get to work.
It is an s4 n/a. Im using the stock exhaust manifold and jsut doing everything from that back. I live in a land of no emissions, so I am ripping of the cat completly.

I was just making sure that I wouldnt be throwing any codes or having any othe rproblem by having the air pump operational (stil connected to pulleys) but not hooked up.

You should be fine, but if you're ripping the cats (and going straight-pipe, I assume), why not spend the couple bucks extra and get a decent header? I could be off-base here, but I don't think you're going to get a huge power boost since you're keeping the stock manifold, and it's just going to get loud (never heard a stock manifold w/just straight pipe in person, but im sure it's going to be very annoying after a while )
