That's a very opinion oriented question. I love my single for the look, sound, and ease of tuning. But that's how I see it and whoever follows me may think the exact opposite. It'll ultimately come down to what the goals are for your build, how much you want to spend, and your personal tastes.

I went from a single to a dual and absolutely love it. I got RB and wouldn't trade it for the world.

I went from a single to a dual not too long ago. I love my duals and wouldn't trade it for anything else.

It really depends on application. For a street-driven car, I'd prefer a dual because of it's superior noise-reduction. For a track car, I'd say single is best due to its lighter weight.

I had duals, went single and I just bought duals again. Singles are a bit loud for my taste. Wieght isnt an issue for me.

It's more of a personal thing.
although a single out exhaust would save on weight,I have a Racing Beat dual muffler setup.(Rev II).
The Main reason I got it was I thought the car would look a Little 'stupid" to have One muffler on it,and have a Empty spot on the other side where another Muffler is "supposed to be".I didn't want to be driving around with the car looking like it lost a Muffler..haha!
The Racing Beat system is not exactly Light weight,(about 75 pounds)But it is a Good Durable system and it sounds great.

Basically my exact thoughts for my Turbo project.

Misterstyx69, I kinda felt the same way about the open exhaust cut-out on the passenger side. So I bought some of these:

Looks like I got lucky as they're sold out at the moment.

I'd say have a y-pipe custom made to 2.5 pipe, then have 2.5 inch silencers on the rear. Good flow, dual silencers like stock, and it won't be too loud depending on what silencer you get.

I am having this done this summer. Got quoted $450 at the local exhaust place.

TIIFC3S: Does JKL still sell those bump guards? When was the last time you purchased from them?

RB are amazing... period.

As the OP hasn't responded yet, I'm assuming cost is an issue??

If it is, build your own. Far cheaper than a kit, and in my opinion, can sound loads better. Then you can afford to stick to/switch to duals.

While there can be definitive answers as far as which is best at peak power, weight savings, etc, there is also the subjective aspect of liking dual exit or single exit.

There is also the question that the OP wasn't entirely specific. Are we talking dual or single exit? Or in the case of an N/A, are we talking a collected exhaust with single outlet or separate runners all the way back to dual exits ("true duals")?

Ahhrevenge: I bought my set and their carbon fiber TII lip last April. So it has been a little while. At the bottom of that page they make a big point about contacting them first to make sure they still have them in stock before purchasing anything. I called but never got an answer, but they responed to my email after a week or so. I'd just email them and see if they'll be making more. Other than expensive JDM parts, I had never seen CF exhaust guards for FC's before, so I bought them as soon as I could get ahold of them. Hope that helps.
