Exhaust?

Which would be better? Racing beat or obx-r? First hand experiences?

better as in what?

Racingbeat is pretty much the best exhaust you can get on a fc without going crazy from noise.

Only downside is that they are pricey and heavy.

Sorry. I worded that strange. I meant what is the best exhaust for a TII. I do like the racing beat but the obx is nice too. I was wondering if the racing beat would become restrictive at higher boost and power numbers seeing as its not a full 3" turboback.

It's not a full 3" turbo back because it splits at a Y. Splitting 3" single to two 3" pipes would seriously hurt your exhaust flow. They designed their systems very carefully, you can hardly go wrong with them.

I have an OBX and I like it but if I had more money i'd go with the racingbeat. I've read around that racingbeat is the best exhaust for an fc.

OBX for function and RB for a balance of both function and form. Being that I'm a function > form person RB stuff is usually overpriced to me and the only benefit is the stock look and sound reduction which I could care less about.

On a turbo car a post downpipe exhaust is basically an accessory to a performance-minded owner. Find out how much noise you can live with and decide whether the money saved by buying a less expensive (louder) exhaust would be worth the other parts you can buy with the money you save.

I agree with khanartist.

But that's just my opinion.

You'd be better off buying the tubing and flanges yourself and telling a muffler shop how you want the **** configured. If you want quiet, run a presilencer an inline muffler and an end muffler.

Keep in mind single exhaust is LIGHTER than dual.

Noise is the main concern. Where I am at if it is barely over stock sound or they see a muffler styled other than factory you automatically get a ticket.

You might want to buy used then lol. A new shiny SS or Titanium exhaust would stand out.

When I bought the car it came with a 3" turboback with a magnaflow muffler and a 4" can. Its way to loud and anything with a can on the end of the exhaust gets pulled over. Anything slightly loud enough to hear gets pulled over, unless its a truck. I will probably go with the racing beat because the performance is good and it still looks and sounds stock.

I had a 3'' corksport on mine for a while, but that thing attracted state police like you wouldn't believe. I've had the full Racing Beat REV-II on for a couple of years now and had zero problems with VA police. But I also try not to drive like an ******* whenever they are around. In my opinion the RB is worth every penny.

Don't misunderstand, the RB REV TII system does NOT sound stock, but it is very tame and tolerable for the high performance piece that it is.

Basically it just needs to be as quite as possible. That system would be ok especially just because the appearance at glance looks like a stock exhaust. It just doesn't need to be noticably loud.
