I personally like singles or duals, but the stock exhaust isn't bad either. I dont believe there's any harm in going single...

I think single looks better than duals, I put 3" driver side exit on my car and it looks pretty slick.

The reason they are dual exhaust stock is for sound reduction I believe. You will probably get better flow out of a bigger single exit exhaust.
I had an Apexi N1 and switched to the Racing Beat. Dual exhaust looks so much better IMO, it makes the car look meaner from the back and I get more compliments with the dual polished mufflers. Plus the rear looked incomplete with the bumper cutout and no muffler under it, but you can fill that if you wanted. I didn't notice any power increase or decrease when I went from single to dual exhaust.

Here's my N1:

And this is the Racing Beat:

If your gonna go single at least replace the rear bumper... Duals look 100% better.. But if your against the extra weight unless there is functionality get the true dual. Unless you have a turbo the I don't see how you can have true dual.

Yes, both of the stock exhaust pipes work.

The flow increase may cause boost creep on a TII. On an NA, the exhaust noise may be too loud.

It would be very difficult to install a proper muffler that way.

You need to work on your search skills, lol. Try searching the 2gen section for "single" in the title. I got several hits in 0.58 seconds.

Actually having the turbo models makes it impossible to have true duals.

If you don't want the one into two you can look up Racing Beat True Duel exhaust sytem. It's two pipes all the way back.
