Exhaust ?

I have a racing beat exhaust . The downpipe and presilenser are in good shape, the Y pipe & mufflers are rusted and broke. I like to know what catback exhaust will fit to my racing beat presilenser. The RB is kind of price-eeey. So im looking for ideas. Thanks Tony

Unless it specifies otherwise, like 3" turbo-back exhausts or something, any catback for 2nd gen rx7's will work.

false.........nothing will fit unless you CUSTOM cut and reflange another catback to fit.....I suggest you go with the RB turbo catback.........You mentioned downpipe so I assume it's a turbo.

Excuse me? false? Nothing will fit? Where are you getting this? If he is running the 2.5" dp and silencer no flange will have to be customized. Apexi, GReddy, Racing Beat, Pace Setter, HKS...they will ALL bolt directly up to a RB 2.5" pre-silencer. I've used all of those systems, minus the Racing Beat and it's safe to assume that will bolt up.

I'm correcting you because you say that absolutely no system will bolt up to the RB dp and ps without modification, which is not true at all.

I say it's safe to assume the RB cat-back will bolt up to the RB dp and ps, well, because it does. I know it and you know it.

Nice try at a deflection. You posted incorrect information and you know it. I've used all of those systems, yes, with my RB dp and ps. They all fit perfectly, period.

To bolt RB presilener and DP to a stock catback (y pipe, etc) isn't an extension required? So, if all cat bcaks replace stock parts, wouldn't you need an extension in order to make it work out okay?

not you too.............that's why i told him to go to a muffler shop if he ends up going with anything else besides RB........although I think it will require cutting rather than an extension.......but it depends

Cleaned up, stop the unnecessary flaming.

As far as the system goes, what ARE you talking about Madrx7racer? I'm just curious, because it really depends WHICH downpipe/silencer the original poster is using. Racing Beat sells 2 for the TII, one is a 3" version that will only bolt up to the REV TII Exhaust system, and the other is a 2.5" version that is meant to bolt up to the stock catback. The 2.5" version I have seen bolted up to the CS single catback replacement with the RB flange and everything still there which means it should bolt up to most/any aftermarket catbacks and not just the RB one, so I'm just wondering what you mean? Maybe I'm misunderstanding you or something?

Check his profile, car is a TII.

There is a 2.5" and 3" TII downpipe, NOT just 3". Yes both are for turbo. There is also a downpipe for the n/a stock exhaust manifold that is 2.5" but that's NOT what I was talking about.

I was referring to the 2.5" turbo downpipe and pre-silencer. It was already established, before I posted initially, that his car is a turbo model so I didn't feel the need to be more specific.

Aftermarket cat-backs will bolt up to the 2.5" system without modification. Not to beat a dead horse but just clarifying.

Will the borla catback dual exhaust connect to my rb presilencer, and will it fit nicely all the way to the back of the car.

Assuming that you have the 2.5" presilencer. and the borla catback is a stock replacement catback, then yes it will work.
All of the RB 2.5" single dp/presilencer combos are DIRECT replacements of the factory cats and bolt up to the stock y-pipe. I have done this, so I know it works. Any catback made for the rx-7 that is a drect replacement for the factory catback will bolt up directly to the rb presilencer with no problems at all. I have seen cars with 4 different catbacks bolted to the rb presilencer and none of them had any fitment issues.

but not if you are using the 3" Turboback (dp and presilencer)......either way a muffler shop should be able to MAKE IT fit for a small charge.

If you haven't figured out yet, we need to know WHICH downpipe/presilencer you have in order to answer your question.

So, is it 2.5" or 3"?

Im going to say its a 3" becouse the inlet on the Y-Pipe is bigger then the two outlets that go to the pipe and mufflers. Does this sound normal for the RB turbo back exhuast. I bought the car with it already on it. Thanks guys for your time and help your giving me. Tony
