Excessive oil consumption

So, the saga continues. On to the next issue I'm having

I seem to be consuming an excessive amount of oil. At first I thought it was due to not tightening down my front oil cooler line as I had a little dribble coming out of there after re-installing the engine, but now I'm not seeing any external oil, but I seem to be drinking oil like it's going out of style. I took it for a cruise this morning, let it warm up, and then took a spirited drive (but never over 4750 rpm as I'm only around 900 miles into my break-in). I probably drove about 70km, but could probably use a half to 3/4 quart of oil to get it back to full.

On startup, it puffs a decent amount of blue smoke but then subsides. During the install, I checked all oil injectors, replaced one of them as I was able to suck air through it, replaced my OMP lines, and made sure my oil metering rod was shimmed to FSM spec.

I'm planning on doing the OMP test to measure how much oil is being pumped to my injectors, but wondering what other tests I can do to rule out the more serious and internal oil seal problems?

Would hate to yard this engine out again, but probably better to figure it out sooner rather than later.

Pulled my plugs today to try to get some more data. I noticed that the trailing plugs definitely had some more build up (which I assume is due to their vicinity to my oil injectors), but front and rear rotors seemed uniform on both leading and trailing plugs.

Looking at my plugs though, I'm wondering if I should lay off the 1/2 oz / gallon premix that I'm running.

I'm assuming that if there was anything up with my internals, I could expect to see different buildup between the front and rear rotors.

So my thoughts are:
- maybe there is still an external leak somewhere that I'm missing? I did do a substandard job on my oil pan gasket so it does seep, but doesn't leave much more than a tiny drop every night.

- my OMP is stuck open, but it seems like a pretty simple contraption and I've checked to make sure the rod and spring function correctly.

- I can't read a dipstick properly, but I'm pretty sure I've got that down.

Here's a picture of my plugs
