Everyones favorite game: guess my 1/4 mile time!

Ok well here goes.

I just got my t2 running for the first time, and it feels very nice. Here is a list of my mods. I will be going to the track on friday but wanted to see what everyone thinks is obtainable.

87 base model.
Full S4 T2 swap (tranny, lsd, etc etc)
10-12lbs
Haltech standalone with 550/800 setup
TB mod and port
4" TID
3" dual exhaust no cats straight through
225 falken azenis rt-615

Completely gutted:
no carpet, sound deadening, gutted dash, ac, steering, emisions. stock seats are gone in favor of sparco sprints.

I am guessing 350lbs less than a stock car.

I am guessing a 12.9 if I launch right.

my only problem is I see guys with bnr turbos only running in the mid 12's and standalone guys running in the high 12's low 13's.
When I go big turbo I better damn well be in the 11's

most guys do not bother setting up the car for drag, most people roll up right off the street with street tires on, you will not break mid 12's on street tires unless you have some insane trap speed.

Define insane. I ran 12.3 on street tires, and my trap was 114.93

that depends on what kind of street tires you run, you can get some grippy street tires but they won't last all that long daily driving them.

going from 12.3 to 11's is also not as easy as it sounds, that is where tires can make a world of difference.

This is true, and I have been dragging for over 15 years, but tires arent the end all solution. Remember, I cut 1.8s on a $20 pair of used tires. Driver has alot to do with 1/4 times.

jrat. your 12.3 was that on full interior? and what boost level?

I am using the azenis 615 pretty grippy tire at 180 tread wear rating I believe.

I would love to hit 12's and it looks like I can do it on the stocker.

But jrat why are your times not reflective of your new turbo upgrade. was traction or boosting an issue.

I would hope for mid to low 11's when I go bnr on a street port.

You guys are right this is not a drag car, it is a circuit car that I will drag on 10 dollar test and tune nights for fun.

I have the hks hyper-d coilovers so my suspension is very stiff, I dont know if that will hurt or help me.

That was on full interior, 10th Anniversary. Weight of the car was 2980 with gas and me in the passenger seat. Run was at 3000 Ft. above sea level. If you correct this to sea level, its an 11.8.

I hit 13.4 on my stocker, which corrects to approx 12.8

If you can drive 13.0 and it's tuned right, if you can't 13.2 if it's tuned shitty and you can't drive 13.4

I am SURE a 12.9 or better can be done on the stock turbo.

I wish I had had my car to the track when it was in that form but from a roll I beat a 12.9 second FWD vw so I'm sure that a proper RWD car with a good launch and etc, could do it.

I damn well better be deep into the 11's this year or I'll be pissed

Sorry, didnt meant to come off grouchy!

Also, the 2 step doesnt require anything other then a GM Weatherpak, a momentary on switch, and some wire. If you want to get into the details, hit me up on PM.

umm suspension is the most important part sorry guys. Then a good driver. Suspension tuning in any moving sport is the prime key. There is no reason you can’t run 10s on street tiers.

Umm oh yea the BMW M5 does just that 10flat.
