If you want to keep your A/C, just unbolt it from the bracket, and move it out of the way, leave the lines attached, though.
I kept my A/C.........I want my car to be fast, but I also want to be comfortable on those hot days when I'm not racing.

ive already taken the bolt off on the the line farthest to the front. still need to get the bolt right behind it as well as the line behind that one. then im going to need to plug all three holes. after that im going to need to loop the lines on the passenger side of the rack. is this correct??

I ditched the AC. If it's hot I put the roof down; if it's raining I take the daily driver. No need for AC. And it's stupid that there are no fresh air vents in these cars. How hard would it have been? And if there are vents in canadian cars then why don't we have them? There can't be any legal issues about this. My 89' 626 has fresh air vents, but my 95' 626 doesn't. At what point did mazda decide to make us breath our own farts all damn day long?

Yes you are correct. you have listed exactly what is left to do.
Try moving the A/C pump to rear and that may give you enough room to get to the remaining bolts and hardware.
I am also going to be helping do this mod with A/C still i the car, so if you get stuck, I will post how we got it out.

lol @ HUMID VENTS... in the summer if i have my AC on and i turn it to fresh air from recirculate, my vents literally blow fog into my car....
I cant see taking the AC off of a southern street car, but if you never use it why not. the gains from having just the belt of are minimal if even noticeable. the car feels the same with the AC turned off as it does with the belts off.
weight gainsfrom dropping the whole system are small but larger than most other things. 50# is what i have heard. for a street car, unless you are stripping out EVERYTHING you will never know the difference between AC and no AC.
they say every little bit counts and this is true, but i doubt any sane person would want to do enough "little bits" to make a difference on a street car.
i just dont see the use in sacrificing the little creature comforts for something unnoticeable. now removing something useless, like CATS and S4 Air pump, those i can see.
My $.02
