I have, quite a few times too. The feeling always goes away after a car wash and wax for some reason.

Heck no, I live and breathe FC's. If you think you have problems now, go buy an FD. Then you will REALLY know pain...

I loved my S4 for the first 6months I had it. Now I hate it...not for the problems that were my fault, but for the shere number of stupid little problems that make having it hell. I have all but given up my rexes. My S4 and S5 have become too much of a burden and neither drive. I want to cry everytime I go out side and see this beautiful black S5 sitting there but doesn't drive, and probably never will. Anyone want an '89 GTU?

I feel like giving up on RX-7's sometimes, but then I feel better when I see all of the crap out there posing as sportscars. Honestly, what else can you get for $500 - $4,000? Also, the new so-called sportscars are entirely too expensive, and the insurance is just plain silly. Besides, the last time some people told me to sell my FC because it was old, their brand new "sportscars" ended up spending several weeks in the shop for problems, while my car was only broken for one day that whole year.

If you don't like your 2Gen, you could get a 1Gen which doesn't have as much stuff to fix. I actually like the 1Gen better in some ways, although I still like the 2Gen better overall.

LOL, no kidding! However, I'll see your FD, and raise you one 84 Camaro.

i know this is a little off topic, but if you guys think yu have issues with your fc's then peep this i have owned three, count em three, 3rd gen Preludes, why you may ask, becuase it was my first real performance car andi have done so much work on them and built such a knowledge base from them that now i can't even stop from buying one when i lose another, i kid you not i have lost the last two in accidents and keep coming back to them, they trully are the funnest prelude to own out of the bunch they might ot be fast but the 4WS option makes them one of the best FWD drifters out there, hell i remember when i was on my first one and was on the second engine rebuild and thinking screw this the car didn't survive the last enginei did, but you know what i kept with it and now I have such a joy about it, hell i blew my last engine trying to beat a n/a FC, i was out by a nose but halfway through second i threw a rod through my block, all i could do was get out and smile, now when i blow things up it makes me happy becuase i know i am pushing my limits, pretty soon i am going to get a turbo 2 i have had my eye on them for about 3 years well the rx-7 in general and i just want one so bad, i just need a blown turbo 2 and i will learn and have all the fun i want, in the mean time dont give up there is a reason why boards are up here like this and that is to contribute to the cause make use of it and never say die

Please tell me it gets better!!!!

I have had so many problems w/ my 88T2 it drives me crazy... but every time I think of even selling it , it does something to make me fall in luv w/ it again.(drives like it should)
Although for the money that I've put into it , I'm not seeing the resuilts I want to. I know w/ the right knowledge and lots of $ it can be one of the fastest cars around.
You wanna talk about probs, when I bought it I didn't know the radiater had a crack(that got bigger). My ecu burned out next. Then the PD failed.torched the engine. Now my tranny and driveline are going. Please tell it will get better I've put too much into her to give up on it

you wanna know how to really gain some love for your fc?? i had an reallly nice condition 87 GXL and i started modding it until the power steering rack went out and there were a bunch of oil leaks........i didnt have the 1000 bucks or so to fix it so instead of just dealing with the leaks and saving to fix it i sold it and bought a honda.....biggest mistake of my life........i count every day that goes by till i can sell the honda and pick up another fc.......i miss the days where i could pull up next to a honda in my rx at a light and show it why rotary's rule but now im almost embarrased to pull up next to grandma in her cadillac at a light..........so dont give up on your fc..or ull end up one of them like me

No way..Got mine for 800 dollars. Have always loved the car..Now That I have one it is time to get her back in shape..I kinda compare it to a woman..When I first got her she was a little old and worn out. I added a few things to her, put her on a diet. Now she is just like an 18 yr old again..Ha Ha..I am a perv. Oh well, I need a good woman..Nah I need a good Rx-7. Yea.

Where I'm from fc's aren't very common. Mine is stock on the outside apart from mufflers and club decals. I've spent a lot of money on the car and all my friends and family have told me to get rid of it, but I've persisted. The car is just about finished and has been improved as much as I can afford right now.

Even if they break down, smack into a tree sideways, leak oil or stall at every intersection, they look hell cool doing it and I wouldn't part with mine unless someone was prepared to pay big dollars.

Save, beg, steal, sell your body whatever but get that rx-7 going hard!

By the way I think the fuse for the front headlights is under the front end somewhere, have to check my service manual look around under there and check to see if its blown.

this is normal with people who work on their own cars. Happens to Mustang guys, old school hot rodders, Kit plane builders, and yes even the Honda crowd. From time to time you have to take a step back. To save myself aggrevation like that i usually like to plan ahead and try to fix things that could wrong before they usually do. Plan ahead as best you can and it will save you lots of heart ache. and yes i've been there also. remember this though. "anything worth doing in life is never easy"

Yes we suffer the same stress as other spdfrks but who would pay $2K for a totally stock civic motor?
