The eternal question, true duals or collected single?

Well I'm in the market for a exhaust system. I really like the dual look, I have been told duals will make more power, I know they weight a lot more but flow better. My plan would be to use racing beat road race headers (I bought them from a person on the forum for $100), and use Summit Long Stainless Steel Mufflers (SUM-630625, 2 for 206.70). They are SS and I think they would work well for pre-silencing, I would also use MAZDATRIX true dual piping (about $300 w/o ship) from header to pre-silencers and from pre-silencers to mufflers. As for mufflers I would use CORK SPORT 'Power Series' Mufflers (2 for 178.00 w/o ship). I have access to a wire feed welder so I could weld on flanges to the mufflers (more expensive but arguably better) and pre-silencers or just weld them onto the MAZDATRIX piping. This would all cost a total about $766 without flanges/gaskets. The question is what do you guys think about this setup? Would it be worth the hastle? Does it sound like it would work with some fitment? Single collected would be slightly cheaper for full exhaust and be lighter but wouldn't make as much power and wouldn't be as damned cool. How would you guess it would sound? Are the Corksport mufflers a good way to go that is less expensive/more free flowing than Racingbeats?

Well My oppinion would be Duals. I have the MT ones and I like them a lot. I have driven cars with a colected system with "high flow" mufflers and it sounds like ***. I would only suggest HIGH QUALITY mufflers like the RB ones. BTW do you have an S4 or S5? If you have an S4 you probably won't have a way to activate the auxilary ports at all since you don't know if the setup will work with "high flow" mufflers as opposed to the RB units used in a setup like mine. Good luck and get tons of picks when your done.

I have a s4 and plan on using a summit RPM switch and a electric air pump to activate ports as I have heard many do.

Do a search. This comes up regularly, and im tired of typing the same thing over and over for people who wont take the 10 seconds to search for it.
