establishing interest...cosmetic/asthetic/not real important stuff...

Well I have a number of products I want to take onthis winter and I'm kind of curious if I would be able to move any of them. The biggest reason why I'm doing this thread is to determine what I want to take on first.

The biggest project is going to be a hood. It's going to be either 7 layer fiberglass or 3/16" eurethane with some bracing. It's not really weight savings, it's for a reverse cowl. There's going to a large single vent right in front of the engine so that ducting could be installed to pull air directly off the radiator. REally looking forward to that one. Probably want around $300 for these...but dunno...

Second biggest project (would be first if I actually did it) is a single piece clam-shell front end.I would have to put a LOT of research into bracing it and all. It wouldn't be the sturdiest thing, but it would be heavily vented and (@ 5~7layers of mesh) it would be light. Hardest part to this would be securing it. Would want an even $1000 for this, at least...not including lights...

...shipping would also be a PITA...

Other projects I'm looking at, that are much smaller and could be done easily...

Radio surround plus guage bezel. I think I would do two varients of this...one with two/three guage slots in the top vent, or with them stacked along the pass side of the bezel witht eh faces pointed at the driver. Probably want around $100 for it...

Cleared tail, side, and front turn signal lenses. Not "clear" as in "no pigment"...well the fronts and sides would be but the rear would be like a lot of modern lights...clear plastic but it's still red. The brake/runners would be red and the turn and reverse lights would actually be straight up clear. I want varying costs. I would have to have cores and such, so that'd save you some money. Probably $180 for the tails, without a core...

Sleek headlights. This is more for the weight but I'm looking at good donor sources for parts. Acura make a number of cars with 70mm projectors, and a few other companies as well did, that I can use. But these would come assembled with a propper wiring harness but can be disassembled easily for painting or cleaning or something. I've done these before and sold them for $300 shipped to the CUS.

Anwyays....opinions?

Sleek headlights that actually look good and could drop the retractor/motor and all that **** would be really nice.

I also like the radio surround/gauge bezel idea since not many people make something like this right now. Personally I already have one, but I remember what it was like having to find someone to make it since 1FastT2 no longer did

Can you post shots of your surround, dDub?

Yeah, the sleeks would be drop in's and they flush up with the hood and everything (not like that froggy **** east bear puts out and what not...).

Old picture, but this is what I ended up having made. It was just a piece of aluminum cut for three 2 1/8th inch gauges and an aftermarket cd player. Back of it was cut to the shape for proper mounting behind the stock surround.
