Question Erratic Idle

I just bought my 2nd 1987 RX-7. My first one left me with a blown tranny. But before it did it suffered from an erratic idle. I just bought my second and it suffers from the same symptom. Erratic Idle. On my fierst I did a complete tune up and it still would idle erraticly switching between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Is this a common problem with an easy fix? I am new to rotary and cant think of anything else to replace. Here is what I replaced already. MAF, Spark Plugs, Wires, I also checked the distibuter and the coils. Everything seems okay. Please Help.

Have you checked and set the Throttle position sensor? (TPS) Also, do a search on this forum for idle problems. This is a common problem for our cars, with a few different causes. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks?

Vacuum leaks is usually the main cause. Check to see if the acv has been blocked off, if it has, make sure it has a good gasket and a perfect seal. As stated above this is a very common problem, do a search.
