Engines out, now what

Well i got my engine out today.. finally i work slow =], i had the help of about 4 by standards that said i was going to hurt my self, a drinking adult (whos destributor cap on his motor cycle he showed up on is the top of a beer can), my girl, an 11 kid who knows far to much about cars for his own good ( i make him go under the car, i got a dirt driveway) and SLOWT2 from these awsome forums

well now that i told you all that usless information, what else should i do while the motor's out to the car? suspension, should i sand blast the ***** out of the narsty spots on the bottem of the bay and then prim and try to match paint, are the structual points i should check out, or should i just clean away with a rag and have no worries?

Being that you live in the rust belt. Wire brush and degrease all your corrosion and coat with "Zero Rust".
To Coat with the paint of your chioce.

Or move south and buy a rust free car!

yeah, ive seen alot of rusty cars round here, you would be supprised to the amount of rust on my t2 though, about 2sqr inches on the drivers side trunk lid, all surface, and like 10sqr inches on the drivers side frame thingy just behind motor mount.. and thats it, it was a southern car that was undercoated? oh well

Im guessing that "Zero Rust" is a rust inhibitor, ill have to get some then, what is the color code of the uhh tan silverish paint for the 87 SE's? i wouldnt mind matching the paint in the engine bay

thanks for responses

Check your powersteering boots. Make sure they are still intact. Also check the tie rod ends. Make sure those rubber boots are good.

And clean her good Nothing like an engine bay you can dine out of
