do any gearheads out there know the way to reset the factory alarm on an 87? I would rather just tear it out or disable it, but the wires seem to lead everywhere. I believe this is what is causing the engine to not turn over. It seems as though the starter is in a bind whenever i hit the ignition. thanks

 

to reset the ECU I think you have to hold the brake pedal for 60 seconds or something like that. Not sure if that has anything to do with the alarm and the car not starting though.

Are you sure your engine isn't carbon locked? Give us details on the car, year, model, mileage, condition and we can better serve you

 

To reset the ECU:

Remove battery connections. Depress brake pedal once. Reinstall battery.

 

yep, it was carbon locked and i get that freed-up, thank goodness it was something that easy...thanks for the help guys
