Yup, at least you have a spare 7 to lightly cannibalize when things go wrong. If the starter is 'out' you can sometimes hammer on it a bit with a wrench or hammer to jar it loose, if it cranks again then the starter solenoid is out, have it rebuilt and it should be good as new again....so you wont need another for the other project car.

Alright, did some troubleshooting.

I'm getting new spark plugs tomorrow, but I found out my injectors might be stuck open, my left spark plugs show signs of it flooding, so I think it's a problem with my front rotor...

I'm getting a cleaner for the injectors, and getting the new plugs, and hopefully it will start right up.

I think on s5 all you need to do is floor the pedal while cranking the motor.

floor it, turn key, no fuel will be injected.

Remove plugs, wire brush them, put alittle oil or atf (Atf is fine for deflooding) cranker over, check plugs later on/wire brush them again.

Whenever your s5 floods, floor it then crank it will prevent it from flooding worse.

What my dad would do (He didnt know the floor it trick) he'd take off the master cylinder vacuum crank it over till it started (Maybe he did floor it, both ways it'll let the engine get more air), I've never had to do that, never had to deflood since I got new plugs actually.

mabey your out of gas. have you checked that. that can burn even the best of us. also check to see if your getting fuel. the vid seems like a fuel issue. or mabe it is just flooded.

Full tank, filled up the night before that happened.

DEFINATELY flooded, fuel was pouring into my engine like no other... haha...

My spark plugs should be in at NAPA today, so I'm going to go grab em, NGK platinum.

It _does_ work

Floor it, start car, it wont fire up it may catch but theres no fuel being injected. I do it randomly when people are around to make em think my car broke.

"dude is your car fu.. brap brap" "Oh you musta fixed it"

Actually the 'just floor it' technique is ONLY applicable to S5 cars. That trick doesnt work on a S4, which does not get told to not fire the injectors if WOT during startup.

Only real cures to 'flooding' are to have the injectors cleaned/rebuilt, rebuild teh engine due to low compression (if that is the case); or if money is tight, buy a small rocker switch at any local autoparts store (or walmart) and install the switch inline with the fuel pump relay. Installing the switch will be just as effective as removing the fuses, but with the bonus of leaving the hood down, and being able to shut it off using the switch to make the injectors clean out the fuel rail, thus stopping the flooding before it starts.

Never said ti was for s4, it was posted above me that it was for S5's which I believe he said he had, or I was under that assumption.

It is an S4, as shown in my sig.

UPDATE:
New spark plugs did nothing, my car is getting flooded right from the start, new fuel is pouring in like crazy, we are going to try a few different things this afternoon to see if we can get it going.

Did you try putting a teaspoon of ATF in each rotor chamber? It's real simple so give it a try

I was going to try it with oil, would ATF be better?
