Engine won't start.

Engine cranks.

Won't start.

Happened right after I was going around 60 on the freeway. Didn't think it was a big deal but started off wrong and the engine turns off. Tried to start it, cranks but won't start.

New clutch from a month ago. New starter as well.

Any help?

Could be flooded but I don't think so because I was getting the same problem before I got the clutch and starter changed.

So the clutch and starter prevents flooding??

I would bet its flooded. My car has the same problem. I just tried to start it and it turns over..but will not crank. There is also a very strong smell of gas outside the car.

I am aslo out of cigs and my roomate is at work. Guess I will walk to the store.

Car is flooded possibly due to many reasons. Have you tried unflooding?

Also, for OP.. When cranking does it sound different then it used too?

Well when I start the car, not sure if I can consider it cranking but it sounds like a vacuum. Sounds like metal is grinding against metal but nothing starts. I can't explain the sound too well though.

I think so. I didn't necessarily look under the hood so I'm not really sure about that. But I hear like a click whenever I turn the ignition.

Then the "vooooooooommmm" sound that sounds like 2 circular metals grinding against each other.

I was looking around the forum and saw a few reasons:

1. Flooded. I'll do flood procedure tomorrow.
2. Starter. Bad starter.
3. Fuses. Electronic problems.
