Engine wont idle
I just got a 87 RX7 and when i start it up it will not idle on its own, Unless i have my foot on the gas it stalls on me. I dont know anything about rotory engines but i was thinking it might be a throttle position sensor? Besides not idling the car runs smooth and does not smoke at all. Could someone please tell me what could be wrong. Please Email me at Adrock637@aol.com, thanks in advance
There's a screw on the very top of the intake manifold. By turning it you should be able to bump the idle speed up enough so that it doesn't stall.
If that doesn't work you may need to adjust the throttle plates a bit, the screw is on the back of the throttle body and you need to remove it to get to it.
The problem may be elsewhere, try messing with the screw at the top of the manifold first and tell us what happens.
Does it do this only if it's cold or when it's warm too? What about when you turn on the A/C or use the power steering?
