Engine Time

Its almost time for my rebuild.. ive decided to go with a huge street port.. and just have a few questions.. i was talking to the builder and he said that i would need a header , fuel computer so a S-FAC? , new flywheel for clearencing. Is he right i never thought i needed to buy a header other wise i wouldve gone that way for my exhaust? fuel computer i can understand i should get one anyways.. so what ya think?

um, you should probably do something to change the fuel curve now that you're flowing more air, at least with the turbos you should. And if you're getting a street port and not getting a full exhaust, you're just wasting your money on the street port IMHO. Flywheel, I don't understand why he'd need a new one.

i have done the full exhaust with the Bonez Race Pipe and custom rest.. but i still have the stock manafold.. how much am i looking for an Apex S-FAC fuel computer? unless anyone can suggest better? he suggested i get another flywheel because he needs to do something about clearencing? but while hes in there he can do the clutch and flywheel anyways.. so can i use my stock manafold?

you'd want a header for best power gains... as for the flywheel. maybe he wants to use a light one or a 89+ one so he can use 89+ rotors? for balence. but size shouldn't matter. just weight.

Dude, I've never understood why you don't want a header.....your exhaust isn't a waste, the shop can just hook into a little further down with a new flange. You were looking for something louder anyways, I think a header would get you plenty...possibly more than you want. I don't remeber seeing a silencer

oh theres a scilencer in there.. i will prob get a header.. the reason why i didnt was because the price i got the Bonez Race Pipe and custom did the rest.. since i am ordering my stage 2 upgrades i might as well get one since im spending 6000 on a rebuild and all that race goodies
