Thumbs up Engine Swap help

Hey wsup,
I just got an 89' rx7 for a very good deal, its a 5 speed and the only concern would be there is some tranny failure possibly, (unsure at the moment, i pulled the spark plugs and replaced them however it still will not start, it will crank though) and Im trying to figure out the next best step as far peformace. Im thinking along the twin turbo 3 gen set up, really i would like to know what the experts here,lol, would recommend.

Have you tried the search feature? It's really good you know.

Unless you have money flowing out of your pockets, a 3rd gen engine swap isn't for you.

Fix all the bugs with your current engine, and learn it well. Then go ahead with a TII swap for simplicity. You're getting ahead of yourself here.

that sounds pretty good, what is the "TII" swap, I am pretty commited to everything that i strive for, so for instance if i were to go that route,I do possess the time and patience in order to complete my project. But a little education and feedback never hurts, i appreciate it.....

TII is short for Turbo II, the turbocharged model of the FC.

Trust me, you are in for alot of headaches if you want to use an FD's engine.

For the simplest install, go with a Turbo II swap of the same series as your car.

s4 = 1986-88
s5 = 1989-91

Use the search button, and type in "TII + swap" and "Turbo + swap + help" or something like it. This topic has been covered countless times.
