Engine Swap Help!

hey i have an 88 and i replaced the stock engine with another 13B anyways it's all back together and it turns over but doesn't start. There is fuel getting to the engine, the battery is fine, the plugs and wires seem fine..what can it be please help asap

From what i've heard, it takes LOTS of cranking to start up some of the rebuilds.. momar had to do that.

Mine was a factory rebuild and fired right up, who built yours?

Yeah, it took a while for mine to start up. Just keep cranking it. What seemed to work for me was to give it a little gas as you crank it, started right up when I did that.

It also might take a while for your engine to maintain an idle, so you'll have to keep your foot on the gas until it does.

i was pumping the gas as i turned the key and nothing..i turned it over like 6 times and nothing?? any other ideas

Check everything - look for large vacuum leaks, misaligned crank angle sensor, plug wires on properly, etc. These are some of the more common no-start problems on a motor swap.

all the plugs and wires are on right they go 1-2 starting from the front of the engine correct..vacuum lines were all good the crank angle sensor the guy who i bought the motor from put it in..he races rx7s so he knows what he is doing
