Engine swap

i am currently looking at JDM Turbo engine swaps. i have heard not but good about them from civic guys but i am not sure about there rotary engine quality. just wanted other peoples opinion on the engine. i also wanted to know if a JDM MAZDA RX-7 RX7 COSMO 13B-RE ENGINE/TRAN TWIN TURBO would bolt right up to my 2nd generation 1990 non turbo engine or be at least close to it . The other engine i am looking at is a JDM MAZDA RX-7 RX7 13B-T ENGINE AND TRANS 89-92.

Without significant modifications, the 13B-RE will not fit.

The 13B-T will fit right in (mechanically speaking), but you had better know something about changing the ECU/sensors and making several other drivetrain mods (diff, driveshaft, axles, etc.).

This is all previously covered on the forum, I usually use the search feature to find this stuff.

Actually the 13B-RE is easy, the REW is the PIA. But if I were you I would attempt to find a good J-spec and get it rebuilt ASAP.

What up Man, I was looking around for swaps online and I am glad that I came across your Question. You were asking about JDM swaps. I recently had bad luck twice with JDM Rotary swaps and had to pursue getting my mony back. This has been about an 8 month long process and needless to say that it has not been fun. The main problem with the JDM Rotary swaps is that they usually cut the wireharness. I have a 89 turbo II and with those engines the wires from the harness and computor have to be wired straight to the Fuel injectors. Now, this presents another problem because you have to remove the intakemanifold and everything. I personly had a problem finding Gaskets for it with the same bolt patern. The dealer gaskets would not fit. I am surching for a solution also, I have the engine and tranny out of and everything she just needs a donner. Email Me mybe we can be of help to one another.
