Lightbulb engine swap!!

My 87 GXL has seen better days. But I recentlly found out it has a blown APEX. So I found a local shop that will rebuild my motor for about $900 big ones. Thats money I dont have. But I do have a 400hp 500lbs TQ small block 409 olds(403 bored .30) sitting in my garage. I also have around $350 in the bank. I know grannys speed shop sells kits but for a small chevy. Now I want to know is if I cut off the chevy motor mount off that are included in the kit can I weld on the olds ones? I need ideas and comments quick I cannot take anymore work off(need to go back monday). So I need help. My buddy put a 400chevy in his and that car flys and drives like its on rails. I know this motor will put my car in the 11's(my beloved cutlass ran 12.50 and weighs 1000lbs more) I am not doing this for the speed effect but so I can get to work. I need help bad...
Thanks Dave
