swapping 88 n/a with manual transmission from a convertible into my 87 n/a automatic that's blown. have complete wiring harness on the new motor but on the side that goes to the ECU there is no wire to run to what i think is the solenoid register.(has a huge yellow plug) on right front fender well. manual says that most models will have the solenoid register on that spot but apparently not an 88 convertible. i have nothing to plug into it with the new motor. my question is two parts. A: how important is this solenoid register to the 88 motor ( i don't relly even know what it does) B: does this solenoid register have something to do with the automatic transmission or something (I HOPE) cus' then i don't need it. anybody with any experience you're help would be gretly appreciated. thanks
84-87.5 will have the resistor pack. 87.5 and later won't.
If you are using the 86-87.5 injectors you will need the resistor pack. If you are using the 87.5 and later injectors you will not need the resistor pack.
