Angry Engine running rough

I just started my car up today, hoping to drive it to Thanksgiving dinner, but upon starting it up, it felt like my engine was bouncing around in my engine bay for a bit and kinda calmed down after around 5-10 seconds, but it was running really rough and sounded abnormal. The engine's shaking didn't cease; it was still moderately shaking. It just wasn't so vigorous. Also, the car was smoking out of the exhaust a little and the fumes smelled a lot like gas. I'm not sure if there was a lot of smoke because it was cold out, but it was quite a bit more than I remember during a cold start.

Just rewinding a little bit, I had engine vibration problems before, but not as bad as this. It started when I noticed engine vibrations when my engine was held at around 2k rpm. It was just a slight, pulsating vibration. It was enough where you can see the mirrors shaking. I thought it was timing, so I did the timing and it was fine. I concluded for a while that it was my engine or tranny mounts. I checked them, and they seemed to be fine. I tightened some slightly loose motor mounts, but it didn't do much. That slight vibration stayed, but I hardly noticed it anymore because I got used to it. I also have some problems with possibly my throwout or pilot bearing where I would hear rattling from the area of where my tranny is. When I accelerate and disengage the clutch quickly, I hear the sound of very loud clunking from my transmisision. Also when I get on or off of the gas too quickly and too hard, my car jerks back and forth. Then, probably about a month or two later, I noticed that when my car is started up warm, under slow acceleration, I got the engine bouncing in the engine bay for the first time. I had to let off by disengaging the clutch and reducing the throttle to stop the bouncing. I concluded that I probably needed a new drive shaft because my front u-joint is probably on its way out.

Any ideas guys? Sorry for the VERY long read, but I can't really drive my car and I need it to get to school. Its my one and only car. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks rx7club.

Check your timing....check for leaks(vacuum)...Check your TPS...do those things and come back to report for us
