I just bought my first RX-7 on monday and it had a few problems...1. the radiator fluid was a light brown color 2. the engine had really now oil and it had a burnt smell at that and 3. it doesnt want to start but it sounds like it wants to and it seems like its teasing me with it. I flushed the radiator, changed the oil with Royal Purple 10w30 and changed the spark plugs cuz they were disgusting and had burned oil and some brown fluid on the tips. please give me your advice in helpin me overcome this problem I have....thanks mike

 

Check compression, insure your getting fuel and spark.. then search for unflood procedures.

 

CHECK COMPRESSION!
After you do that, pull the fuel line from the primary injectors, turn it over see if your gettin fuel, if that works pull a plu and check for spark, if that works....

Its not too hard to get it runnin normally... Open the fuse box under the hood, pull the main EGI fuse, turn the car over 4 or 5 times, pop the fuse back in and start it up. That normally does the trick. Rotaries are tempermental patients, but they are amazing engines and very easy to work on. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT!
