The car has had a small oil leak for awhile, think this is it?

scalliwag is selling SS lines for much cheaper than that. I think around $55-70 for a full set. The OEM lines are fine too but they are pretty expensive.

I'd say that's a pretty good bet.

definately PM Scalliwag for SS lines; ~$80 and if your oil lines' hardware is still good, mention that to him. he always needs oil line hardware pieces.

Umm...who are you having rebuild your engine? If he's sending you these pics and does not know what they are you need to get that engine away from him before he destroys it.

Rotary Performance(www.rx7.com) in Garland Texas is doing the rebuild, I did not say he did not know what it was, I said he sent progerss pictures without saying what it was or what was wrong. I was curious what it is and if it could possibly be the cause of the oil leak.
I searched long and hard for a engine rebuilder and narrowed it down to two here in the Dallas area, I really wanted the other person to do it but the car would have been outside for a couple of weeks and RP had it inside under lock and key. Both came highly recommended so I trust the shop and the tech.

No those guys are really good, kind of on the expensive side but they DO know their stuff. I was just confused as to why the pic.

the omp beign gunked up as it is usually means it wasnt gettign the oil to combustion chamber, be ready to have to replace both rotor housings. and try to use premix in future, it works much better then omp if you are not lazy that is.

Rebuild at RP is one price regardless of the condition of your engine, housings and rotors are covered in the price. It is a little expensive but seems to be in line with every other quality shop I spoke with and got quotes from. cheapest and most expensive were only about 400 dollars different. I had a rebuild with a street port, new air conditioning, new exhaust( high flow cat and a cat back ) all new vac lines, all new hoses and a few little maintenance type items done. I am pleased with the price and amount of work being done

Yea motor mounts and tranny mounts were needed also, I would rather not say dollar amount but it is alot more than the car is worth.
