Engine Out...need options.
13BT - 1988
So, I have the engine out and I am still trying to determine whether I'm going to crack it and rebuild it myself, or just buy a 3mm rebuilt from Atkins. My real problem is, the wiring harness. Some of the connections are toast, and I'm going to need a new one. What are my options besides junk yard sniffing?
1) Is there an after market harness availble for less than and new Mazda OEM harness?
2) Is there a programmable ECU kit that has a full replacement harness?
Thanks.

1. No
2. Yes. Haltech, Microtech, Autronic, AEM, yada, yada. These are all capable of running your engine on their own, so whatever is in your car that does NOT run the engine, you will need the old wires.

My 0.02 cents, go with the Atkins rebuild, and find a replacement harness.... have you checked Mazdatrix?
Mods are a slippery slope, can be exciting, but you need to have deep pockets!

That sucks that there is no after-market replacement harness...
