engine may be dead, maybe???
Well I still cant get my car to idle, it just dies instantly. it will run if I hold the gas down though, just kinda rough and white smoke comes out the exhaust, gets worse the longer it runs. My question is, the car was sitting for about 4 months without being started ( my fault, stupid I know) , but could a water seal or something else couldve gone bad in that time, and could that be the problem?? would the engine still run if that was the problem, or not at all. Even with the gas held down to keep it running, I will let it warm up, it will not overheat, temp stays steady. Just white smoke pours from it, and it wont hold an idle at all. I've never had a problem with the car for the two years that I've owned it, but it does have 120k miles, so could it be dead??? just wondering.

Perhaps one of your injectors went bad or the engine was really flooded. I recently started up my old GXL which sat for 5 months (ATF bath) and it needed a basic tune-up when I got her running again. New plugs and a TPS/BAC adjustment.
She purrs now and the 3800 hesitation I had when I first got her running is gone now as well...now to just add her to insurance policy.

The thing is, I parked it for the winter in October, and took the intake off then to port the upper manifold. I put it back on and now this. I've taken it back apart and put it together about 5 times, everything is together right , im sure of it. The car was running perfectly (so I think) before it was parked , so it kinda seems weird to me that it might be dead just from sitting for 4 months. if it was dead would it run at all???

sounds like maybe some condensation formed in the engine over winter or something. I just recently (today) trashed my clutch, slave cylinder went out in it and i tried to make it home w/o using the clutch. Don't worry, it wasn't an rx-7 it was my P.O.S. mini-truck.
