Engine kept running
Ok so i finnaly got all the wiring done and got the engine running in my s5 N/a to s4 TII swap. I fired the engine up for the first time and it reved to about 4 grand and stayed there. It was shooting hella flames out the downpipe because i havent installed the exhaust yet. My question is when i shut it off the damn thing kept running for about 4 seconds. Should i be worried or does it have something to do with the exhaust and cats not being on.

also check to see if the capacitor on the trailing coils is grounded properly. Its located right under the coils bolted on the shock tower. If its not connected right or is bad it will take several seconds for the car to turn off.Hopefuly this may help you.

can a rotary engine diesel? i've never encountered anything about that before. i know it happens with piston engines rather easily when the timing is all messed up.

well You might have done something like me
I did a S4 NA to S5 TII swap.
You may have reversed the alternator plug wires.
DO a search for alt under my name and you'll see a huge thread on that.
Pretty much my car kept running until I finally pushed the throttle so low it bogged out.

yea thats probably the problem then. I know there was only two wires going to the s4 altinator and im pretty sure it was a big one and small one (pretty easy to tell the difference) but i may have switched them around. Thanks. Also i just ran a constant 12v from the point one of ignition to the fuel pump, is that going to cause any after effects if the pump is constantly at 12v.
