I took off my air pump and I removed both of the sleeves for the auxilary ports, so both ports stay open at all times. Not real sure what the air pump is for. After I removed the pump and sleeves I lost low end power but gained power after it hits between 3 and 4 grand.

On the S5 the pressure from the air pump is used to open the VDI and 6pi systems. If you remove it without rigging up another way to pressurize those systems you will loose a lot of top end, unless you lock them open and then have less bottom end. It(the air pump) is also used in for some of the emissions components of the car, good luck if you need to smog the car.

I have an s4 and I left the actuators on for the sleeves and they still work without the pump they just dont have anything to close/open the ports.
