Engine Harness Question - CAS Shielding

Hello all. I'm currently in the process of re-wiring my project FC and have hit a small snag. After looking through a few threads and combing the FSM multiple times, I'm coming to you all for help. Between the Engine Harness and Front Harness connectors (FE-02), there is a Black/ White wire connected directly to the CAS shielding. I've tried to find what the wire is supposed to be with no success. Any help is appreciated.

It's a ground. Further into the harness that black wire will splice with the other grounds in the harness by the ECU.

The way the shield works is by being grounded on the one side and not connected on the other. The CAS side ends right near the connector, and is left disconnected. The harness side splices into that wire and grounds out with the rest of the ECU grounds IIRC

I had thought so after reading the shielding would need to be grounded at one end. I wanted to make sure that it wasn't connected to anything powered before wrapping it. Thanks a ton.
