Engine control units.
I saw a Knight Sports ECM chip for sale on ebay for 88-91 N374 engine control units. I liked the specs and wondered what would happen if I put the N374 chip in place of my stage III chip already in my N333 control unit. These units are all for turbo II's. My unit is for a 1988 rx7 turbo II with a different control unit number. Anyone out there know anything about this?
here's what i think...if you have an extra ecu you don't mind toying with and don't mind spending a few $$ for the chip then go ahead...but if you only have one ecu i wouldn't even bother...besides you already have a stage 3 chip already...

you would have to open them up and see if they use the same chip. the 88's and 89's are very different in the way they are wired up, but if your lucky the chips are the same

Why? I just want to make sure you understand my description. The chip was installed in this car in 1991. It is not a 1991 chip. The chip socket is the same but I am wondering if the chip controls the same things.
