A limit up to $2,500 for the motor or for the motor and installation? If it's $2,500 for just the motor get a 13B RE Cosmo motor.See the 2nd Gen for sale section.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

if you mean to ask what mods you should choose with a $2500 budget then start with the basics

-full tune up (plugs, wires, fluids, etc)

now depending on the route you want to take

1.power
-exhaust
-intake
-safc

2. handling
-racing beat suspension package
-f/r sway bars
-camber adjuster (you said you want to slide)

mix em up and have some fun.

I'm not sure If your thread Is appropiately titled with what you are asking.

If you are asking for ways to make your non-turbo FC faster, than their Is alot of Info here. https://www.rx7club.com//showthread....threadid=31410

Look to the 2nd Archives for more Info on pissing on Nissans.

2500 should be enough for a stock t2 swap if you do it all yourself.
