Energy Suspension Today

So i finally got the time to put on my new bushings from Energy Suspension right.
First wuz the front conrtol arm My God wuz it hard, geting the old one to come off wuz a pain. They were so old i had to use a air minee grinder to cut through the rubber. Since the stocks ones had a extra peice of metal i the bushings.
So after like 3 hours of grinding and ripping of the old *** ruber i get one off.
Now mind U i'm at a craft shop with power tools air tools and still toke me 3 hours for one. I probably attacked it the wrong way no WD-40 to start with to losen up the dry rotted rubber but i still managed. finally finishing up i noticed i put the left one the wrong way #$$%@. . I den proceed to just leave it like dat as 2100 wuz coming fast to closing time. If U ever seen dem from Energy Suspension the big one for the front control arm has the round end and the flat end. Well i put the round end towards the rear. Will it make a difference please give your advice.
Now all this work to change two parts i think when i get the time. I will go to a shop to get the other front contol arm installed along with the rear bushings

yes it will make a big difference, that is the support that the supension forces against without it it will be metal/metal iirc... it shouldn't be too difficult to pop it off and reinstall it correctly, the ribs may be trying to hold it on but with a little prying it should come off.

the way you approaced taking the bushings off is the right one, i cut the bushings off with a die grinder but it only takes me about 15 minutes, not sure why it took you 3 hours aside from it was the first one and any thereafter should go quicker.

Any shop with a press could do it.

But the labor is going to really **** you. I'd suggest taking off whatever parts you need, then bringing them into the shop separately. IE remove control arm, bring arm into shop to press out old bushings and press in new ones.

Good luck.

Rear sub frame does not have to get dropped to take out the differential, bro. I've told you countless times.

You just need a friend and a short 9/16" (IIRC!) wrench to get to the bolts.

I'll explain it all to you later on.

Well gentle man Godd advice goes a long way. Today i went right back to work on the front bushings, had to go back and change round a control arm bushing dat i installed the wrong way. After talking to the craft shop workers they had a Pulley tool. Which enabled me to pull the new one right back off in a matter of 5 min.
I proceeded to change out my tie rod and my tie rod end links. and with ease just like my man Karack said i used the pulley and the work wuz done so easliy.
All i got left is to change out the rear bushings abd still waiting my sway bars from ST
(suspension technics
Can't wait

Replacing the stock, old, fatigued rubber bushings in my 1987 GXL is by far the best upgrade to the suspension I've made. It made a whole lot better the suspension feeling and responsiveness. And it's not all that difficult. The front bushings are very easy to replace. The rear ones are tricky but not difficult at all. I had to drop the whole rear suspension frame because the toe adjusting bolt which holds the bushing to be replaced was facing the body panel side and couldn't be pulled away. You choose your method, but replace them along with the DTSS eliminator bushing too because it's well worth the effort.

Hi there. I bought mine on e-bay and look very similar to the RB units. I bought them in conjunction with the Delrin motor mounts and the product quality is very good and reasonable priced. If you like, check them at:
