Emissions Removal Troubleshooting.

Well, I have removed most of the emissions on my S4 N/A Rx7vert. The only thing I did not remove was the valve on the UIM since I forgot the block off plate, the plate will be in soon. I have gotten the car to run, have driven it, but it has a very bad hesitation around 3500-4000RPM. The car also has been backfiring more than usual on deceleration. I KNOW about the ~3800RPM hesitation and have already added grounds the the ALT, the top of the motor, and added another few grounds around the engine bay, and even routed some grounds to the negative battery terminal.

I have not checked the fuel injetors yet, does anyone have any tips on how to make sure they are operating?

Any other ideas as to what it may be?
Could it be from the valve I did not remove from the UIM?
Insufficient grounding?
Faulty Fuel Injectors?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Adam

Edit: I forgot to mention, the water thermo sensor broke when I removed the UIM.
