DTSS bushing removal/instaltion Q's

Hi. I have my Rx-7 in the air with the whole rear end sitting on the floor. I'm going from N/A to TII from the trans back. I have the new DTSS eliminator bushing kit from racing beat and want to replace the bushings as well as all the other bushings on the rear end. I already have replaced all the bushings from the control arms and the sway bars, but i have been unable to take out the DTSS bushings from the hubs. I took off the rotors and the dust shields (I cut off a section to be able to completely remove the dust shield but they will go back on with no problem.) I sat there, for about an hour, with the hubs on the hydraulic press and was contemplating on how to lay the hub down without damaging the bearing or the hub with the force of the press.

Is there any specific way to remove the bushing? or will my best bet be to forget about the press and hammer that bitch out?

I will resume my work tomorrow morning and would greatly appreciate any info/advice/suggestions anyone can give.

Thanks and Happy Holidays
Adam

Just thought I would post that you can use a 1 inch socket or piece of pipe to push on the dtss bushing. And a 1 1/4 inch piece of pipe to support the other side. Worked like a champ!

I also found it easier to seperate the hub however I screwed up the bearings pretty bad when i pressed them out
you should get a bearing remover tool, i cant think of the exact name but it clamps around the hub and helps with removing it
