Emissions removal and misc questions

Ok, I will be doing emmisions removal along with a few other things to free up engine space and complexity.

I have a few questions though:

I will be doing the oil metering system removal, so I wanna know how much premix to add to a how many liters of gas.

Is is wise to remove thermowax and bac valve?

I've read a little on the TB mod, and from what i've read it dosnt seam like the best idea, is this right? any comments?

I will be doing the emmisions and misc removal that can be found at www.rotaryresurection.com , Has anyone done this? Anything that I should know, any helpfull hints, anything of the sort.

Any help will be apreciated, thanks alot

Thanks alot

EDIT: My car is a 87 Turbo 2

I am in the middle right now of reassembling this project... I too removed the MOP. The going ratio of Pre-mix to gasoline is 1 oz. to one gallon of fuel.
I agree about the TB mod. I chose not to do that. I am also keeping the BAC and Thermowax. I want to keep it feeling stock in drivability just add a little power and of course clean things up.
Start looking for a MOP blockoff plate now.. K2RD.com apparrently offers on, but I think thier site is down right now.
Will you be replacing all of your gaskets and stuff? I took off the turbo also...
FYI it might be a good idea to edit your post and include the Series of car you are working on... Mine is a 88 T2...
Hope I can help! Any more questions and lemme know!

Ok, I need block-off plates... K2RD is down, is there any other places to get them? Also, what block off plates will I need? I know I need ACV, Split-Air, MOP... but what else?

As far as gaskets go... I will be buying a sheet of gasket material, and some sealant. I think that should be good.

Thanks alot

Talking

What year and aspiration is your car!? Are you going to remove the air pump and such? Ifso I would recommend the racingbeat presilencer and downpipe ($245) they also include a split air cover plate.
The other thing I just encountered... rotaryressurection says to do this... When you apply the plates the nuts won't seat all the way against the plates and LIM surface. You should remove the studs and get replacement bolts. My local autostore had some that would work. Also you will need the EGR valve coverplate as well if you choose to remove it. You may also find some of the gaskets reusable. The ACV and EGR were still good on mine though, I also reinforced thier seal with Black RTV.
As far as the other gaskets? Not sure! I don't know what kind of car you have! :P
http://mazdatrix.com/ was my resource for most everything. Also be sure to get thier Oil injector block bolts. 4 of them they (as far as I know) can't be found by browsing the site you will have to order by part number, the part number is...19-064A-FT01
I recommend you also red loctite on these threads for extra insurance against any kind of leakage.
You may have to fashion a plate to block off the MOP. One guy just replaced the lines where they connect to the pump with bolts and torqued down good and tite, this is still the subject of some speculation though...
MMM..... That's all that I can think of for now! Keep 'em Coming!

EDIT!
Oil.... Search on this one... Some people go expensive! Some go cheap and say it's just as good!
Redline Vs. Walmart!!!

I edited my first thread, I said I have a 87 TurboII. As far as oil goes I mean what type? Normal (dyno or sythetic) or do I use something like 2 stroke motor oil?

Also, as for block off plates, I am getting a JDM engine and doing what emmisions removals I can on it first, so I have a few days to fab up some block off plates that I cant find on the net.

Thanks again

If you're not burning the crankcase oil any more, all debate about synthetic vs dino is pretty much out the window. It doesn't matter. You still use regular motor oil in the crankcase, and use 2-cycle oil of some decent variety in the gas.

If you like to have a smooth idle no matter what the engine temp or accessory load, then no it's not wise.

I'm assume you mean removing the double-throttle system but leaving the thermowax. If you do it right, you'll have zero problems. Throttle response is noticeably improved, and the only downside is teaching yourself not to slam the throttles open at low revs (causes a stumble), which quickly becomes second nature.

I may have to remove the double throttle plates when I get some time.

The whole thing about not slamming the throttle open is just a good driving habit, regardless of what you're driving or how it takes it. Smooth driving!
